Bridal Hairstyles: Tips and Inspiration

Deciding what to do with your hair can be hard enough when it’s just for a girl’s night out – we know we’ve certainly spent enough time despairing in front of the mirror with our wet hair in turbie towel – so how do you even begin to decide on a style for your wedding? While we can’t tell you what to choose, we can help with a little inspiration, so here’s our style file of bridal hair, with options for every hair type. Whatever you’re working with, we hope we’ve got something to strike your fancy.

Short Hair

Short hair is great for showing off every detail of your dress, and looks fantastic offset against some big accessories, particularly big, floral headpieces – great for a boho summer wedding! Whether you want choppy and edgy, or neat and chic we’ve got some ideas for you.

We love Carey Mulligan’s fun twisted braids as a rebellious bridal hair look! Messier styles are also easier to maintain, so you can dance the night away without worrying about keeping it neat!

Neat pixie cuts look fantastic off-set with a veil or fascinator, or add a decorative clip for a 20’s glamour feel. Short, straight hair keeps a look chic and simple, while still being bold and glamorous.

Whether you opt for a textured, choppy look or a more vintage, soft curl, a wavy bob always looks fantastic, and keep the look soft and feminine, great if you’ve got a romantic or vintage dress!

Mid-length Hair

Big, bouncing waves on mid-length hair are great for a vintage glamour look, yet still feel stylish and contemporary. This sultry style works well with almost any dress, and once done doesn’t require too much maintenance.

Keira looked stunning on her wedding day, in a mid-length dress with low-key waves. This pared-down glamourous look would be great for an outside wedding – especially with her beautiful flower crown. This look would also carry a veil well.

Follow Taylor’s lead with this short, messy up-do, with soft curls framing the face. Great for brides with shorter hair that still want an up-do look.

Long Hair

Pull hair into a half-up look, decorated with braids and a decorative clip. This look keeps hair back from the face while still showing off its length.

A loose waterfall braid is beautiful for an outdoor wedding, and has a beautiful boho feel. Decorate with small flowers for a beautiful country theme.

We think Blake Lively’s undone fishtail would make a great bridal do, especially adorned with a vintage hair clip, or some flowers!

Keep your bridal do gorgeous and simple with long, loose waves. Add a floral crown for decoration, or a beautiful veil.

Up-dos

Keep your look chic and elegant with a perfectly styled, neat up-do like this rolled bun, perfectly accessorised with an elegant clip. This classic style is great for supporting a veil, and looks timeless.

Combine plaits, flowers and a messy bun for this beautiful, loose up-do. This romantic style would look perfect with a Grecian or boho dress.
